‘Skin’, 2000, 49X36cm, watercolour, gold leaf, bronze powder and vellum on paper.
Made in response to a poem by Catriona O’Reilly for the 2000 4+4@4 Visual Arts/Poetry Project. The poem, if I remember correctly, spoke of the frail thinness of an anorexic and this piece of stretched vellum half revealing the text - the person - seemed to be the right choice.
‘Summer’ uses another piece of the skin from ’Skin’. It measures 15X15cm and was made for an exhibition in China, from where neither it nor a fee returned.
