Hi. My name is Joe Carbery and I was born in the townland of Meenadoan in Fintown, Co Donegal in 1951. I now live in Lucan in Co Dublin.
In his book "The Battle of Scariffhollis" the author Liam Roynane includes these paragraphs :-
"The following story was recounted by an elderly lady named Kitty Mc Geehan which was told to her by her father and is narrated by Liam Roynane in his book titled The Battle of Scaiffhollis. “A soldier named Carberry, escaping from Scariff Solas, crawled along the ground and eluded his pursuers until he reached Meenadoan the townland on the Meenroy side of Meenmore.
